Susan Margolin. Board of Directors

Susan Margolin is co-founding Principal and Chief Operating Officer of New Video Group, a New York based home entertainment marketing and sales company. A leading independent distributor founded by Margolin and video entrepreneur Steve Savage in 1990, New Video is dedicated solely to critically-acclaimed, award-winning films and television programming for the home video marketplace. New Video is the exclusive marketer and distributor for A&E Home Video, best known for classic literary adaptations such as Pride and Prejudice, classic TV on DVD acquisitions including Benny Hill, The Thames Library, The ITC Library, The Avengers, Mr. Bean, and Monty Python’s Flying Circus, and notable programming from The History Channel. New Video is the exclusive retail distributor for Scholastic’s acclaimed line of classic children’s titles featuring such award winners as Where the Wild Things Are, and Harold and the Purple Crayon. With a catalog of over 1,200 titles under The History Channel, A&E, Biography, and Scholastic Video Collection labels, New Video represents some of the most prestigious brands in home entertainment and works with such renown production companies as BBC, Granada, Fremantle, Python Productions, and Tiger Aspect. In 1999, New Video formed Docurama, the leading label devoted to bringing distinguished and cutting-edge documentaries to the home, including such films as D A Pennebaker’s Dont Look Back, Michael Moore’s The Awful Truth, and numerous Academy Award® winners and nominees including the 2003 nominee The Weather Underground.

Prior to founding New Video, Margolin was Senior Vice President of Theatrical and Video Distribution at Fox Lorber Associates. While at Fox Lorber, Margolin created the Fox Lorber home video label, which featured high profile independent and foreign films. Margolin also supervised the company’s feature film activities including financing, acquisitions, distribution and licensing of film and television properties for all media.

A graduate of Brown University, Margolin is a member of IFP, New York Women in Film – of which she is a former board member and a current advisory board member, BAFTA, IDA and NATAS.
