The Board
Christina Thomas, Chief Executive Christina Thomas has been involved with BAFTA East Coast since it’s inception in the middle 90s, along with the two other New York founding members, Gill Rose and Freddie Hancock. She has seen the New York based BAFTA chapter grow from its relatively small beginning to its present level of 600 members. As Chairman she oversaw the growth in film screenings from around 20 in the first year to the current level of closer to 100 a year. She ran the first open Annual General Meeting in 2006 and has helped move the organisation to greater transparency inviting the involvement of all members in all decisions from th e election of Board members to participating in committees to help develop the activities of BAFTA East Coast. She has represented BEC in four BAFTA summit meetings with the Chairs and Vice chairs of London and Los Angeles. She served as Chairman until March 2007, when she was selected by the Board to become BAFTA East Coast’s first Chief Executive. Christina has been involved in the field of international television with major corporations and independent producers in the UK and the US for many years. She has run British and US companies in London and New York involved with co-productions and selling and buying television programs for the domestic and international markets primarily in the documentary, drama, music and children's areas. |
