Full Membership (Category Frozen)
This is a voting category and therefore has been frozen across all chapters worldwide by the BAFTA Officers of the Academy. Entrance into this category is now by invitation only, on an extremely selective basis. Full members are professionals with at least four years of experience beyond entry level working in or with the British or Irish film, television or interactive industries. Selection criteria include length and significance of industry involvement, creative contribution to the industry, and industry awards and affiliations. Full membership in BAFTA EC brings with it the privilege and obligation to vote in every round of the prestigious British Academy Film Awards, as well as the right to participate on BAFTA committees. Individuals qualified for Full membership who wish to become active in BAFTA East Coast should apply for Professional membership (below).

Professional Membership
This category is for film, television and new media professionals with at least four years of significant experience beyond entry level, but who have not been extensively involved in the British entertainment industry. Professional members are accorded most of the same benefits as full members, but are NOT eligible to vote in the British Academy Film Awards. Professionals are encouraged to participate on committees and can apply to upgrade their membership once they have gained the requisite experience in the British industry.

Associate Membership (Category Frozen)
Associate members are currently employed in an entry or support level position connected with the film, television or interactive industries. Associate level memberships are reviewed annually, and Associates are given the opportunity upgrade their membership once they have gained the requisite experience to qualify at either the Full or Professional level. Associate memberships are generally limited to four years.

Student Membership
Student members must be full time students actively pursuing a degree in film, television or a related field. In lieu of a member-sponsor, applicants are required to provide the name and number of their academic advisor.

Visitor Membership
For current members of BAFTA UK or BAFTA LA who happen to be working on the East Coast for an extended period of time, BAFTA East Coast has a reciprocity arrangement with the other BAFTA chapters, allowing these members to attend our screenings and events for up to six months. Applicants should enroll on-line indicating their "Visitor" status and their home chapter. Once the applicant's home membership is verified and the application is approved, the member will be put on BAFTA EC’s e-mail invitation list and will be able to RSVP using the web-based system.
